A favorite spot for Truman Students! Come by at night for a view of the milky way, and to participate in local traditions like the train watch, and star tripping.

Try out one of Kirksville's various orchards, and pick a bag of fresh apples!

Stop by Down Town Cinema 8 to stay up to date on all the latest blockbusters!
When the weather warms up in Kirksville, friends gather for an animated film in Rotary Park at 8 p.m. on Saturdays. Admission is free and open to the public, including soda and popcorn.

Hike out to the dam of Forest Lake on the Red Bud Trail at Thousand Hills State Park. In addition to hiking, biking, backpacking, and picnicking, the park’s marina offers half-priced boat rentals, including kayaks and paddleboats, on weekday mornings from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Skate Park

Skating enthusiasts will love this park! Stop by to enjoy a number of ramps and hang out with like minded individuals.

Grab your tennis shoes and visit the formerly known, “Kirksville Woods,” and check out this little known novelty for hiking, horseback riding, hunting, and fishing. It feature it's own shooting range. You might even spot a white-tailed deer or wild turkey!
Sugar Creek Conservation Area
Along with the gorgeous views offered during the day, check out Jackson Stables on weekend nights for live music, wine-tasting, bonfires, and dancing. For a family affair, pick up a paintbrush for one of Jackson Stables’ monthly paint nights.

Roll over to Leisure World for some awesome deals throughout the week – dollar bowling on Tuesday nights, adult skate on Friday nights, and cosmic bowling on Fridays as well. Don’t forget to bring a little extra spending money for the arcade.

Rainbow Basin Ski Resort
Visit the abandoned ski lodge of Kirksville Missouri after nearly 40 years since its closing.Trespassing is prohibited, but contact the owner and he is happy to show students around. Make sure you bring a camera of the naturally rusted ski lift and remaining snow shoes!

Lost Branch Blueberry Farm
Another one of Kriksville's local orchards. Stop by to get a heaping bunch of fresh, delicious berries!

Museum of Osteopathic Medicine
Stop by ATSU's museum of Osteopathic Medicine for a tour about Kirksville history and see some unique artifacts!
Join a friend for a night of theatrical arts produced by the Kirksville community in seasonal plays and acts. You won’t want to miss their rendition of A Christmas Carol!
